Scott Rosen, DVM

Dr. Scott RosenBorn and raised on Long Island, Dr. Scott Rosen attended the State University of New York at Binghamton where he received his B.A. degree in Biology in 1976. Following his undergraduate studies, he moved to Colorado and worked for the Center for Disease Control while pursuing graduate studies in Epidemiology and Wildlife Biology.

In 1980, Dr. Rosen was admitted to Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine. While there, he was inducted into Phi Zeta, and was awarded the Merck Award for small animal practitioners. Dr. Rosen graduated from veterinary school with honors and was awarded his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1984.

A general veterinary practitioner at Deer Park Animal Hospital since 1984, Dr. Rosen's professional interests include general and orthopedic surgery, oncology and geriatric medicine.

Dr. Rosen is a member of the New York State Veterinary Medical Society, the Long Island Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association. He has appeared several times on local news programs speaking on animal health related topics.

Over the years, Dr. Rosen has volunteered his services to the homeless animals at the local SPCA and has helped in adopting out feral cats and kittens. During the 9-11 tragedy, he received recognition for the veterinary service he performed (on site) for the rescue dogs.

Dr. Rosen is married to Lori, a veterinary specialist in internal medicine. They have two daughters and two dogs: Winnie, a Black Lab, and Satchmo, a rescued Puggle.

During his free time, Dr. Rosen enjoys fishing, skiing, golfing and playing the drums.
